Not too much longer after my lament about not taking pictures, my dad called and asked if I would take a picture of him to send with a resume. He is (finally) retiring after 27 or something years of active duty service in the Utah National Guard and is on the hunt for another job. When you’ve worked at the same job for 30 years and have to start all over it can be a little daunting. Especially with the economy the way it is; many companies would like to hire him but can’t because of hiring freezes. I’m sure he will be able to find his next perfect job. Nate called soon after that to tell me he was done with training early for the day and he was coming home. We bought tickets to see Star Trek at the IMAX theater in Sandy (which was awesome!) and stopped by my parents’ house to take a quick picture of my dad. 10 minutes of pose, shoot, edit, save and this is what we got.

It’s a little over exposed but seriously, 10 minutes. Not my best picture, but functional. I feel like I’m slipping, that I can’t take the same quality picture off the cuff like I used to. I’ll just have to make up for it later; practice makes perfect!
